The coastline from Taba to Nuweiba is among the most picturesque in the Sinai, with dramatic mountain backdrops sweeping down to the Gulf of Aqaba which narrows towards Eilat in Israel, Aqaba in Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Like the rest of the Red Sea, Taba is a divers paradise, with many popular dive and snorkelling sites on the coral reefs around Taba and Eilat offering undisturbed coral gardens and a stunning array of reef fish. Its location, on the border with Israel, and just a short ferry trip from Jordan, also makes Taba an excellent hopping off point for excursions to Petra, the Dead Sea and Jerusalem.
