Guests staying in the Soma Bay or Madinat Makadi areas enjoy slightly preferential rates at the local courses. You can pre-book golf as part of any holiday package; once booked, we will reserve your preferred tee times directly with the course. Courses are busiest during the winter season so we strongly recommend pre-booking to reserve tee times in advance. You'll find incredible value in the summer months if you can brave the heat, but you will need a buggy and a good supply of water. The best value is found when booking a minimum of 3 rounds on a single course, when booking a bundle you can get 18 holes for as little as £36 a round. Designed by Gene Bates and Fred Couples, the 18 hole championship course opened in 1999 and is built around the Steigenberger Golf Resort. Located close to the coast and situated on a relatively flat piece of land, the course is picturesquely positioned amongst holiday villas and apartments, with an abundance of water. As with all the courses in Hurghada, it offers a very decent challenge, but with 6 varying tee positions you’ll be able to find your preferred level. The club also offers excellent practice facilities, including an Aqua Driving Range (good fun!), PGA tuition, Green Café / Bar and an à la carte restaurant. Ancient Sands Golf Course, El GounaThe Ancient Sands Golf Course is located just 4km north of the El Gouna Golf Course and offers a similarly welcoming golf experience over a par 36, 9 hole course. The course also offers all the rentals and practice facilities you would expect. This is just the first half of another 18 hole championship course designed by Karl Litten & Jeff Myers, and with a length of up to 3473 metres at its maximum, it’s designed again to appeal to golfers of all standards. Madinat Makadi Golf Resort, Makadi BayThe Madinat Makadi Golf Resort is an excellent facility catering for all levels of golf skill. Situated just inland from the shores of Makadi, this 18 hole championship course truly provides a test of ball-striking to post a decent score, especially when the winter winds are blowing. The front 9 eases you in to your round through a relatively flat and open layout, but this really is the scoring 9, once you hit the turn you are in for a true test. Blind shots, undulating fairways and an incredible number of bunkers await you. The course has 6 sets of tees available, assisting in catering for all levels, so choose carefully! If a full round is too much you can also enjoy either a quick 9 holes on the championship, or they also have a par 3, 9 hole executive course to hone your short game. PGA tuition is available as well as a driving range and short game facility. After your round we would recommend enjoying a beverage on the terrace overlooking the 9th and 18th greens, a delightful spot to unwind. Key Facts

Cascades Golf Course, Soma BayThe Cascades Golf Course is located directly on the coast of Soma Bay, and as a result has some truly delightful holes along the shore of the Red Sea. Designed by the legendary Gary Player the 18 hole championship course weaves its way around the Cascades Hotel and is considered to be the best of the championship courses in Hurghada. Opened in 1998 you’ll find this both challenging and playable, generous fairways for those wayward drives, but also plenty of water and strategic bunkers you would expect from a great design, the 14th in particular is a spectacular hole, be brave!
