Coronavirus Travel Information

Cases of Covid-19 coronavirus have been reported in a number of countries. There are restrictions affecting travel to those areas and on people who have recently visited them.

We understand that you may have concerns about your holiday, so we have included some information below to help answer questions you may have.

You can rest assured that your health and well-being remain our top priority, and that we continue to monitor all the relevant advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and local authorities.

Should you be worried about booking a holiday?

The restrictions put in place to tackle the coronavirus crisis have led to significant short term disruption to travel. However, these are temporary restrictions, and it is widely expected that they will be relaxed and removed over the coming weeks.

Holidays departing later this year and our winter sun 2020/2021 holidays are on sale and operating normally, and Summer 2021 departures will be on sale soon. Like all responsible holiday companies, we are constantly monitoring the situation and if there were to be specific government advice which would affect your holiday booking, we will be in touch to discuss your options. All our holiday packages are fully protected by our ATOL licence.

Should you cancel your holiday?

Where there are no official travel restrictions in place and you can expect your holiday to go ahead as planned. Normal booking conditions will apply including any charges for amendments and cancellations.

Should the Foreign & Commonwealth Office change its travel advice to recommend against travel to your destination, and your holiday is affected, we will contact you directly or via your travel agent to discuss your options.

Will your holiday be affected?

We operate our holidays in line with the official travel advice issued by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO).

If, after booking, the FCO travel advice changes to advise against travelling to your destination, and your holiday is affected, we will contact you directly or via your travel agent to discuss your options. All our holiday packages are fully protected by our ATOL licence.

Has your doctor advised you not to travel?

If you doctor has advised you not to travel or that you should self-isolate, please contact us to discuss your options.

What to expect on arrival in Egypt

On arrival in Egypt you will have to complete a short health questionnaire. Make sure you have a pen handy! Your temperature will also be measured with an infrared thermometer. These precautionary measures apply to all travellers.

Note: If you have recently been in a country affected by the virus you may not be allowed to enter Egypt and you may need to be quarantined. If you are affected by this, please contact us to discuss your options.

How can you protect yourself from the Covid-19 coronavirus?

We advise you to follow the official travel and health advice, including that given by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the World Health Organisation:

  • • Keep your hands clean. Wash thoroughly and regularly with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially after coughing and sneezing, and before handling or consuming food.
  • • Use disposable tissues when coughing or sneezing and dispose of used tissues carefully and promptly. If you don’t have tissues, use the crook of your elbow to cover your mouth and nose.
  • • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • • Avoid close contact with people who appear unwell and avoid sharing personal items.
  • • Avoid unnecessary contact with live animals. Make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after any contact with animals.

Use of masks is not recommended outside clinical settings. Should you decide to use a mask, continue to use all the recommended precautions above to minimise the risk of transmission.
