Weather in Sharm el Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh's coastal location at the southern tip of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, means the weather is less extreme than the desert areas of inland Egypt. Having said that, summer temperatures are hot with an average high of 38°C by day in July, and 27°C at night. Expect cloudless skies, low humidity, and no rain throughout the summer months.

In the winter average highs fall to 22°C in January, with 13°C at night time. March is one of the most popular times of year to visit with pleasant temperatures in the mid twenties. Sharm el Sheikh has an average of only 13mm of rain annually which arrives as very occasional brief storms in the winter. For more detailed information see our Red Sea weather page.
