Tour Itinerary

Day 1-3 Arrival in Hurghada

Arrive in Hurghada on Friday and transfer to your hotel. The tour starts on Monday, so you can relax and enjoy the Red Sea until the itinerary commences.

Day 4 Cairo

On Monday morning, fly to Cairo and visit the, Egyptian Museum° and the citadel of Salah El-Din with its alabaster mosque. After lunch, wander the oriental Khan El Khalili Bazaar, or, relax with mint-tea and a water- pipe in one, of the many coffee shops.

Day 5 Alexandria

You will taken by coach to Alexandria where you will visit Pompy's pillar, the Catacombs of Kom El Shukafa and the mosque of Abu El-Abbas. Enjoy lunch in the old town before visiting the Greco-Roman Museum and the world famous Alexandria library.

Day 6 Giza and the Pyramids

Immerse yourself in the Egyptian Old Kingdom as you drive to Memphis with its alabaster Sphinx, then visit the Necropolis of Saqqara and its famous stepped pyramid. After lunch wonder at the Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. In the evening, enjoy dinner on the sleeper train as you travel overnight to Aswan.

Day 7 Agilika and the Aswan High Dam

After breakfasting on the train, board your cruise ship (or hotel – see Options) then join a motor boat trip to the island of Agilika, home to the Temple of Philae, devoted to Isis. Visit the famous Aswan High Dam, then spend the afternoon on a romantic Nile felucca ride (subject to weather conditions).

Day 8 Aswan

A free day to spend as you choose exploring Aswan, visiting the picturesque, lively Souk, enjoying an optional trip to Abu Simbel* or simply relaxing on board.

Day 9 Sail to Luxor

Enjoy a day soaking up the view, or even soaking in the pool, as you sail downstream, arriving in Luxor in the evening.

Day 10 Thebes

Cross to the western bank of the Nile to visit Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where there is an optional tour of Tutankhamun's tomb*. Later, view the imposing terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, and the temples of Karnak and Luxor. As night falls, there is the optional* sound and light show in the Karnak Temple.

Day 11 Return to Hurghada

Breakfast on board, then join the coach to Hurghada. The journey takes around 5 hours. On arrival, check in at your hotel.

Day 12-15 The Red Sea

Enjoy the rest of your holiday at leisure, enjoying the hotel facilities, or the many diving and snorkelling opportunities. On the day of departure you will transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
