Tour Itinerary

Day 1-3 Arrival in Cairo

Fly direct to Cairo and transfer to your hotel for a three night stay. There is a huge choice of must-see attractions in and around Cairo, including the Egyptian Museum with famous collections including the treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb, and the spectacle of the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. Alexandria, capital in the time of Anthony and Cleopatra, makes for a great day trip. Save some time to soak up the local culture in the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, and enjoy a strong coffee or refreshing mint-tea at the many cafes. Our representative will be on hand to help book any excursions.*

Day 4 Luxor

Fly direct to Luxor and join your Nile cruise ship.

Day 5: Luxor to West Thebes

Cross the Nile to the western bank of Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where there is an optional tour of the tomb of Tutankhamun.* Then view the imposing terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and on to the enormous Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, sail on to Edfu via Esna.

Day 6: Edfu and Kom Ombo

In the morning, visit the temple of Horus in Edfu, famous as the country's best preserved temple. Board the ship and continue down river to Kom Ombo for a visit to the impressive double temple of the crocodile- headed god Sobek. Later, relax on board as you sail on to Aswan.

Day 7: Agilika and the Aswan High Dam

From Aswan, take a motor boat to the island of Agilika, where the Temple of Philae, devoted to Isis, is located. Visit the famous Aswan High Dam, then spend the afternoon on a romantic felucca ride or motor boat ride on the Nile (subject to weather conditions).

Day 8: Aswan

A free day to spend as you choose exploring Aswan and its lively, picturesque Souk, enjoying the optional excursion to Abu Simbel* or simply relaxing on board.

Day 9: Sail to Luxor

Enjoy a day soaking up the view, or even soaking in the pool, as you sail downstream, arriving in Luxor in the evening.

Day 10: Karnak and the Luxor Temple

Spend the day exploring the maze-like temple complex of Karnak and Luxor Temple. There is an optional visit* to the famous sound and light show in the Karnak Temple.

Day 11: Return to the UK

Transfer to Luxor International Airport for your return flight to the UK.

Departs London Heathrow every Monday and Friday°

• Monday departures fly directly to Luxor, for the 7 night Nile Cruise, then transfer to Cairo for 3 nights, and return flight to the UK.
