Tour ItineraryDay 1: Arrival in LuxorArrive at Luxor to join your Nile cruise ship, and your first sight of the mighty River Nile. Day 2: Luxor to West ThebesCross the Nile to the western bank of Thebes and the Valley of the Kings, where there is an optional tour of the tomb of Tutankhamun.* Then view the imposing terrace temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and on to the enormous Colossi of Memnon. In the afternoon, sail on to Edfu via Esna. Day 3: Edfu and Kom OmboIn the morning, visit the temple of Horus in Edfu, famous as the country's best preserved temple. Board the ship and continue down river to Kom Ombo for a visit to the impressive double temple of the crocodile- headed god Sobek. Later, relax on board as you sail on to Aswan. Day 4: Agilika and the Aswan High DamFrom Aswan, take a motor boat to the island of Agilika, where the Temple of Philae, devoted to Isis, is located. Visit the famous Aswan High Dam, then spend the afternoon on a romantic felucca ride or motor boat ride on the Nile (subject to weather conditions). Day 5: AswanA free day to spend as you choose exploring Aswan and its lively, picturesque Souk, enjoying the optional excursion to Abu Simbel* or simply relaxing on board. Day 6: Sail to LuxorEnjoy a day soaking up the view, or even soaking in the pool, as you sail downstream, arriving in Luxor in the evening. Day 7: Karnak and the Luxor TempleSpend the day exploring the maze-like temple complex of Karnak and Luxor Temple. There is an optional visit* to the famous sound and light show in the Karnak Temple. Day 8-11 Arrival in Hurghada / Makadi BayAfter breakfast on board, transfer by coach direct to your hotel in Hurghada or nearby Makadi Bay for a four night stay. The transfer takes around 5 hours, with stops. Your time is your own, so you can simply laze by the pool, sipping on a freshly prepared fruit cocktail, or try something more adventurous, from snorkelling and diving on the stunning coral reefs that abound in these waters, to raising some dust clouds on a quad bike tour of the desert.
